March Monday!

I hope all of you enjoyed another long weekend! We have plenty going on this week in the grade 5/6 class!

We are launching a new Language Arts Unit called "Going the Distance." In this unit we will explore ideas of bias, prejudice, racism and how people have overcome these obstacles.  We will be reading both a futuristic novel that deals with bias and racism based upon social class and we will also be reading a novel that delves into residential schools and First Nations Culture.

We will also be launching a new Science Unit on Forces and Simple Machines.  There will be a cool science project to go along with this unit!

Homework:

• Gr.5 Math Pg. 192 1to6 and 8,11
• Gr.6 Math....STUDY...Test Wednesday!
• Persuasive Essays due tomorrow....no excuses!

Report Cards will be handed out tomorrow!
