Wednesday Words!

Hello Families,

Just a reminder to all students that we need to continue to follow procedures in our classroom.  We have had a few rough days this week following the long weekend and Reading Night.  It is my goal to provide students with an enriching learning environment.  That being said, procedures create this type of classroom and must be followed.

Students have all be sent home with a copy of the math test they will receive tomorrow.  I have done this so that students have a clear understanding of what they are expected to be able to do.  I will change nothing on the actual test from what they have today.

Please STUDY for your Math tonight.  You have all the tools you need to find success!

Parents please ask your child about Pearson online textbooks and IXL! They have access to both now!

Monday!!

Hello Families!

We had a sleepy start to a very busy week in grade 4/5.  It is so important that students go to bed early on the night before school; sleepy minds cannot learn. We have a lot going on in school these days and students need to come prepared to learn; this means rested, nourished and ready to put their best foot forward!

Homework and Reminders:
  • Math Test on "Whole Numbers" Thursday September 29th.
  • New Spelling words; Test Friday
  • Meet the teacher Night and Reading Night tomorrow September 27th 6 to 7:30
  • Orange T-Shirt day September 30th

I encourage all families to watch this video.  It provides much needed information on the background of orange shirt day September 30th.

Hello families!

We had a lovely walk to mass this morning.  It was so beautiful to see the leaves falling and the smiles on the childrens' faces!  Mass taught us to "Love Our Neighbour As Ourselves."  What a great message to start out the school year!

Please be reminded that there is no school tomorrow as we are on a Staff Retreat Day.

Spelling Test is Monday! Study hard!

Thriving Thursday!

Hello Families!

The students are really beginning to thrive in school.  The daily procedures are really sinking in and the children are feeling more and more competent at what is expected of them.  We are still trying to work on our independence and stamina when it comes to staying focused and staying on task.

Great job at bringing the math homework back!

Homework and Reminders:
  • Study Lesson 2 spelling words.
  • Green Day Friday!

Wonderful Wednesday.

Hello Families!

What a beautiful day today; the sun was shining and the children worked very hard today! The grade 5's wrote their RAD test and the Grade 4's were very respectful and patient.

Today is the first day I am sending math homework home.  I told the children they need to be mindful of their things and not lose their math duo-tang as I would not be replacing it. Hopefully they all come back and the work is done!

Homework and Reminders:
  • Math addition worksheet due tomorrow.
  • Study spelling. Test Friday.
  • Basketball forms are due Friday if you took one.
  • Green Day Friday

Tuesday Tidings!

Hello Families!

I trust all of you had a restful and enjoyable September long weekend!  The students were pretty tired this morning so I encouraged them to get plenty of rest so that they were ready and able to learn!  We are starting to get into the full academic swing of things at school.  Many students are still in sleepy summer mode and the transition can be a bit difficult.  The best way to address this is lots of rest and healthy food.

Reminders:
  • Please make sure you bring your white demographic sheets back.
  • Gr. 4 math pg. 3 and 4
  • Gr. 5 Math Pg. 2,3,4
Enjoy your evening!
