Inventor’s Workshop
Due Date: Friday May 12, 2017.
Your mission my young scientists is to create a “machine of
your own”; something that will make moving a load easier!
You can choose to make a SIMPLE MACHINE (which
uses one simple machine like an inclined plane, wedge or lever) or a COMPLEX MACHINE ( which is a
combination of two or more simple machines like a bicycle).
Here’s What I
Expect:
- Draw a rough sketch of your design for your machine.
- Gather the materials you will need INCLUDING THE LOAD you want to move (maybe it’s a tennis ball, your brother’s dirty sock, a can of soup, or your teddy bear Bob…make it small and easy….no need to move grandma’s armchair!)
- Design your machine using simple items from home like lego, toilet paper tubes, string, rope, tape, glue, paperclips, elastics…anything you can find in your mom’s cupboards BUT PLEASE ASK FIRST!
- Put your machine to the test! Does it work to move your load?????
- Bring your machine and load to school and show me how SMART you are!!! I need you to present to the class!Good Luck Young Scientist!..................................Mrs. Walby
