Hello Families!


Welcome back from Winter Break.


 I hope all of you found time to rest, relax, and reflect on your Lenten Journey. 


We finished many units before the break so it was very nice to have a clean slate to start today.  We began a new Math Unit on Fractions and Decimals, we have begun a new read aloud "School Freezes Over", we started a Religion unit on Lent, we are starting a new Science Unit on Forces and Simple Machines, we are starting a new Social Studies Unit on Government and we are starting a new Writing Assignment on Saints. WOW!!!!!! We are going to be busy.

Ash Wednesday!

Today is a special day; Ash Wednesday.  It is the beginning of our Lenten Journey. "Turn Away From Sin and Be Faithful to the Gospel."

Monday...Short Week!

Hello Families!


We have a busy and short week!  Tuesday is Shrove Tuesday so all students will enjoy a pancake and sausage lunch.  We will be exchanging our Valentines on Tuesday February 13th as Wednesday the 14th is Ash Wednesday.  Please be mindful that if you are sending Valentines to send them Tuesday!  I sent a list home with all students names attached!

Saskatchewan Express Wednesday!

Hello Families!


We had the pleasure of seeing Saskatchewan Express perform "Musicology" at Sacred Heart today!  They touched on many of the elements of music that we learn about in grade 5. They were amazing!

Monday....Indigenous Story Teller Dickie Yuzicapi

Hello Families!


We had a very exciting first day of the week. We started the morning with awards for attendance!  10 students received gift cards of their choice and 3 students WON BIKES! Wow...Sacred Heart students are blessed.  We then were very blessed to have Indigenous story teller Dickie Yuzicapi treat us to some great tales and music!

Thursday! Fun with String Art!

Hello Families!


We had a very hands on productive day in grade 5.  We paired up with our Grade 7 Big Buddies in Mrs. Wilyman's class and wielded our hammers to produce some pretty amazing art.  We are hoping to have our art strung and looking beautiful for our Art Show in spring!
