I had a very good chat with my students today about the importance of being at school. I explained that school is a privilege and an education is a valuable thing. The students seemed to be much better after this conversation and realized that their success relies on them coming to school daily. I am hoping this chat helps supports many of my families who are having difficulty getting their kiddos to school. This is a tough age parents and positive support and rules go a long ways!
I hope all of you had a good weekend. I would like to encourage all families to try to ensure that their child is getting adequate rest on school nights and that their child is getting to school on time. Success in school is primarily rooted in being at school. Please afford your child the opportunity to succeed. Thanks!
What a chilly day outside, but let me tell you we were "cooking" with learning in class today! Students have been busy figuring our expressions and working with variables in Math. We have started Narrative Writing and we are about to start our Mystery Unit in Language Arts. We are discovering Matter in Science and talking about Treaties in Social Studies!!!! WOW!
Thanks to all of my families who made sure their children got to school today despite the ICY conditions. I am proud to say we were only missing a few students!
I am sorry to report that our afternoon skating trip had to be cancelled as there were no school busses running to transport us to the skating rink. I am currently trying to reschedule this but am unsure if we will be able to.
