Monster Monday!

Hello Families!


Although it is Halloween we still had some learning to do today!  The students began their new Math Unit on Multiplication and Division, we received new spelling words and we worked on some religion. 


Please be reminded that there is still school tomorrow so children need to be rested and ready to learn.  As well, a couple of small treats in a lunch is fine tomorrow but large amounts of candy will not be good.  Please leave your treats at home!


Retakes for school pictures are on November 3rd in the A.M. only!


Please be safe tonight as you trick or treat!

Friday Flew by!

Hello Families!


We had a very productive day in Grade 4/5.  We completed our Unit math test and for the most part the marks were awesome!  We also did our weekly spelling test and worked on more of our student led conferencing items.  I cannot wait for the children to show you what we've been learning!


Reminders:


Please remember that Monday is Halloween!  Students may wear their costumes but we ask that they DO NOT bring any weapons or inappropriate items to the school.

Hello Families!


We have a big day tomorrow and we have been preparing all week to succeed! Please assist your child with their spelling and math tonight.  All students have a copy of the exact test they will be given tomorrow for math and they all have their spelling words! We are set up to succeed!!!

Wacky Wednesday!

Hello Families!


I am so sorry for the delay in posts lately. I had some technical difficulties with both my computer and the internet the past few days. We have a very busy week this week with lots of work to finish and do!


Homework and Reminders:

• Picture retakes are November 3rd in the morning!
• New spelling words...Test Friday
• Math Unit 1 Test Friday.  Students have the actual quiz to study and have worked on it.  They will be bringing it home this evening.

It is imperative that students prepare for tests by studying.  Any help and support from home would be appreciated.

Friday Fun!

Hello Families!


We had a great day in grade 4/5 despite the fact that we had a lot of students absent.


 Please remember that coming to school is half the battle when it comes to succeeding at school.  This is the time of year when colds and the flu etc. are going around but unless illness is the reason for absence or a family emergency/situation it would be great if your child was here! They are missed when they are gone!


Students can ALWAYS access their math, social and science textbooks using the Pearson link on this blog.  They have their sign in names and passwords in their agendas! Their assignments are also on the blog daily.


That being said, we will have our lesson 7 spelling test on Monday as so many students were gone.


As well, we will be having a Unit 1 Math test this week.  We are busy reviewing our concepts and I am excited for my students to show me what they know on our test.


We will also begin preparing for Student Led Conferences next week!  I cannot believe that report cards are right around the corner!

Wednesday Words!

Hello Families!


We had a pretty great day in Grade 4/5.  Students are so excited to be using our new Reading Daybooks! Ask your child about the tool of "Questioning" and how bats were in the library!!!! (It's a book we read!)


Please make sure you have your math done Gr.5 text Pg27 1to4.  We will be having a unit test soon!

Another Monday is upon us which means another week of learning and growing. 


I am really pushing students to become more independent in their studies and following procedures.  I encourage them to become more and more in control of their learning.  There is such security in knowing what is expected!

Friday Fun!

It was Jammie day at sacred heart today! Though we came in our sleepy clothes we were alert and ready to work.


We also enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving Liturgy! We have so much to be thankful for!

Thursday Things!

Hello Families!

we had a good day in grade 4/5.  We worked very hard in Math today and spent some time reading our AR books.  It was nice to hear that so many people were out last night for reading night. 

We watched this great video with the Myriam Sisters! WOW!

We were a sleepy bunch today!  It was great to see the children back after a long weekend but they were a little out of the swing of things with procedures and being ready to learn.  Hopefully tonight they will get rested and be ready for a busy Wednesday!

It has been a wintery start to the day!  The students have been very good this week and having been working hard to learn new concepts! I am so proud of them!
