Frosty Friday!

Thank you to all of my families who have shown up so far for our Student Led Conferences!  All families seem to be very impressed with the amount of time and work their children have put in to showcase their work and discover their learning goals.

Please complete you math work sheets if you are in Grade 6 and questions 1 to 5 in division if your are in Grade 5!

REPORT CARDS ARE OUT!!!

Dear Families,

Report cards were sent home with your child today.  As well, please remember to check your conference time.  There is no school Friday in order to accommodate conferences.  Book Fair is tomorrow so please send money with your child.

We have another short week this week and the day zoomed past! Here is some important information for the week:

• Please book your student led conference if you haven't already done so.

Snowflake Tuesday!

There were some beautiful snowflakes falling both outside and inside our class today!  Ask your child what we made!!!

It is another short week for students; teachers have a TPD this Friday November 21st.

Short Week!

I cannot believe how fast this week has gone!

REPORT CARDS/STUDENT LED CONFERENCES:

With report cards and students led conferences just around the corner I want to make sure that all families check with their child to make sure they do not have any outstanding assignments. I have given students many opportunities to submit overdue items as well as assisted them in homework room, however, I still have students with incomplete work. If things are not handed in I cannot mark assess them.

 PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO COMPLETE THEIR WORK.

A few items for the weekend:

• Trip to the Food Bank has been cancelled! We are so sad!
• Please book your conference online.

Welcome back Wednesday!

I hope all of you had a relaxing long weekend!

It is odd to come back on a Wednesday and both the kids and I felt that the day just flew by!

We had a great day and had the opportunity to hear from Country Singer Donny Parentaeu about his "No Bullying" campaign. It was great! If you have time listen to his song "Imagine A World."

Remembrance Day

Before I begin with the usual weekend things and homework I would like to take a moment to thank the many men and women who risk their lives daily so that we may have a safe place to live, work and be with our loved ones!  Please take time this weekend to express the importance of Remembrance Day to your children.  Please pray for the men, women and families involved with our military, police, fire, and first response crews; without them Canada would not be the incredible country we live in.  God Bless!

We are Reading and Writing Machines!!!

We have been a busy group of writing and reading children!

Please ask your child about the amazing book we are reading.  The book is call "Out of My Mind" and is about a girl named Melody. The students have already fallen in love with her character!

• We have started a new unit: Multiplying and Dividing Larger Numbers.
• Please do Pg. 74 to 75 1 to 10.
• It is so important that we know our multiplication facts!!!! Practice,practice,practice!

 

Gr. 6 Math

• We started a new unit on Decimals.
• Please do Pg. 90 to 91 1 to 6

Writing:

• All students have their Narratives due on Friday.  Please read it with your child tonight and help them work on editing and "spicing" up their writing!



Monday went by fast!

The students were busy today writing their Unit 2 Math exams.  They said the day flew by!!

Just a reminder that we are doing our retake of our classroom photo.  The students decided that they wanted to wear Firebird gear or colours. Please remember to wear your blue, black or white for Tuesday!
